Dev IPTV Player — Setup Guide

Dev IPTV setup with Xtream Codes. Clean interface, EPG support, and VOD library access on Android and Smart TV platforms.

What Is Dev IPTV?

Dev IPTV is a relatively newer IPTV player that has found an audience on Android TV, Amazon Firestick, and some Samsung Smart TV models. Its selling point is a clean, modern interface that does not look like it was designed in 2015 — a common complaint about older IPTV players. The app supports Xtream Codes API login and M3U playlists, with a functional EPG and support for VOD libraries.

Installation

On Android TV devices and some Smart TVs, search for “Dev IPTV” in the app store. On Firestick, use the Downloader app to sideload the APK — follow the sideloading steps in our Firestick guide. On Samsung Tizen TVs, check the Samsung App Store for availability, though it may not be listed in all regions.

Connecting with Xtream Codes

Launch Dev IPTV, select Xtream Codes API as your connection method, and enter your server URL, username, and password. The app connects and presents your channels in a categorised layout. The initial load typically takes around 30 to 60 seconds for a standard-sized playlist. Subsequent loads are faster as the app caches your channel data locally.

Interface and Experience

Dev IPTV's interface feels more modern than most IPTV players. Channels are displayed with logos in a grid or list layout (configurable in settings), and the colour scheme is easier on the eyes than some of the harsher themes used by competitors. The EPG presents programme data in a clean timeline, though it is not as feature-rich as TiviMate's grid view.

VOD support is a genuine strength — if your provider includes movies and series, Dev IPTV presents them in a Netflix-like browsable layout with poster images, descriptions, and genre categories. This makes it one of the better choices for households that watch both live TV and on-demand content through their IPTV subscription.

Who Should Use Dev IPTV?

Consider Dev IPTV if you want a modern-looking interface, care about VOD presentation, and use Xtream Codes. It is a particularly good fit for Samsung TV owners who want something more polished than SET IPTV or Smart IPTV but cannot run TiviMate natively. On Firestick or Android TV, TiviMate remains the stronger overall choice, but Dev IPTV is a respectable alternative worth trying.
