SET IPTV — Setup and Activation Guide

SET IPTV activation on Samsung and LG Smart TVs. MAC registration, Xtream Codes login, and EPG configuration.

What Is SET IPTV?

SET IPTV is a Smart TV IPTV player designed specifically for Samsung Tizen and LG webOS platforms. Like Smart IPTV (SIPTV) and IBO Player, it uses a MAC-based activation system and supports both Xtream Codes API and M3U playlist loading. SET IPTV has gained popularity as an alternative to Smart IPTV, particularly during periods when SIPTV was removed from the Samsung App Store.

Installation and Activation

Search for “SET IPTV” in the Samsung App Store or LG Content Store. Install the app. On first launch, it displays a MAC address unique to your device. You need this MAC address for activation.

Visit the SET IPTV activation website on your phone or computer. Enter your MAC address, then add your IPTV playlist. You have two options here: paste an Xtream Codes server URL with credentials, or paste a full M3U URL. We recommend Xtream Codes when available as it provides better EPG integration and access to VOD and series sections.

After saving on the website, return to the SET IPTV app on your TV. Press the refresh button or restart the app. Your channels should load within 30 seconds to 2 minutes depending on playlist size.

Activation Fee

SET IPTV charges a one-time activation fee of approximately 5 euros per device. This is a one-off payment — not a subscription. Once activated, the app works indefinitely on that specific TV. If you replace your TV, you will need to pay again for the new device since the activation is tied to the TV's MAC address.

Features

SET IPTV provides channel grouping based on your playlist categories, a basic EPG with programme names and times, favourites management, and parental lock options. The interface is functional rather than flashy — channels are listed in a clean vertical list with logos where available. Channel switching speed is good on newer Samsung TVs (2020 onwards) but can feel sluggish on older models.

SET IPTV vs Smart IPTV vs IBO Player

All three serve the same purpose — bringing IPTV to Samsung and LG TVs natively. SET IPTV and Smart IPTV are very similar in functionality and price. IBO Player offers a slightly more polished interface and better Xtream Codes integration. If one app is unavailable in your TV's store, the other two are interchangeable alternatives. Most IPTV providers support all three.
